Event Details
The Canada-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) presents The 2025 Philippines – Canada Business Forum, co-organized with the Government of the Philippines, the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry, and the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto.
Background
Amidst constantly shifting world policies and geopolitics, Philippines-Canada relations have stood strong, withstanding the test of time through mutual respect, shared values, and growing people to people relations. Canada remains one of the Philippines’ major trading partners, and an integral source of investments. More than 1 million Filipinos have chosen Canada as their home, contributing significantly to the upbuilding of the Canadian economy.
The Philippines on the other hand, remains one important partner in Canada’s push to diversify and engage the Indo-Pacific region more. Trade, especially in agricultural products has risen steadily in recent years between Canada and the Philippines leading to the establishment of the Indo-Pacific Agriculture and Agri-Food Office (IPAAO), and the Export Development Canada Office both in 2024.
The Forum seeks to discuss trade and investment opportunities between both countries, and uncover further opportunities arising from strategic policies, multilateral and bilateral trade agreements, and plans for strategic sectoral cooperation.
The Philippine Department of Trade and Industry, through its Secretary – Secretary Cristina A. Roque, will be heading the participating Philippine government delegation, and will be the Keynote speaker for this Forum.
