Introduction 

The Canada-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) and its Agriculture & Agri-food Committee, in partnership with Canada’s Indo-Pacific Agriculture and Agrifood Office (IPAAO), are delighted to invite you to the webinar “Food Safety Regulatory System of Canada”. This session is part of the first Canada-ASEAN Agriculture Series 2024, designed to enhance the Canadian brand and expand Canada’s commercial and export footprint in Southeast Asia. Through this series, we aim to build enduring partnerships between Canada and ASEAN in agriculture and food security. 

This knowledge-sharing webinar will focus on introducing the Food Safety system of Canada to ASEAN country agriculture regulatory and industry stakeholders. Participants will gain insights into how Canada ensures that the Canadian food supply remains as one of the safest in the world and testimonials from current importers of Canadian food in the ASEAN region.

 Objectives

• Provide an overview of the food safety system of Canada;

• Highlight and share some best practices in ensuring safe food by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency;

• Foster discussion and collaboration of participants in ensuring Food Safety in the region; and
